U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice is currently visiting Libya. She first stopped by Tripoli where she had talks with Libya's Prime Minister designate Abdurrahim El Keib and also was presented with a memento during her visit to the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice arrived in Tripoli, Libya, today in a surprise trip, just a month after she voted to end the UN’s mandate of the NATO mission that ousted Moammar Gadhafi.

“It is good to be in Libya,” she tweeted shortly after arriving.  "I’ve come to witness progress & lend support to Libyan & #UN personnel.”

Rice eight months ago played a pivotal role in convincing the UN Security Council to authorize the mission to protect civilians.
